LITTLE HORSTED is a village and small parish, on the road from Lewes to Uckfield, 2½ miles south from the latter, in the Eastern division of the county, union of Uckfield, Pevensey rape, hundred of Rushmonden, Lewes county court district and archdeaconry, and diocese of Chichester. G. Scott, Esq., the builders being Messrs. Cane, of Brighton. The living is a rectory, yearly value £356, with residence and 23 acres of glebe land, in the gift of Francis Barchard, Esq., and held by the Rev. Augustus William Warde, M.A., of Christ Church, Oxford. There is a Parochial school, together with a residence for the mistress.
